Château des Cèdres

Click on pic for Château des Cèdres website
Mogette La Deux-Chevaux Coquette
Very bad bilinguale poète
Had a happy meeting yesterday
With propriétaires très charmants
Of a château extraordinaire in Mouchamps...

Mouchamps, as Mogette thinks you know
Is the resting place of Clemenceau...
Georges, Ministre de Guerre quatorze-dix-huit
Repose depuis 1929
... in le hameau Le Colombier
In La Vallée
Of river Petit Lay

And at Le Petit Château des Cèdres
You can have Breakfast and a Bed
In une ambience of Style of Twenties
With an authentique
Magnifique
Salon de Thé
Au rez de Chaussée...

Chaque chambre has a theme:
There is Coco Chanel...
(Chambre Numéro Five, as well!)
Because Coco's first perfume expert
(We call him a "nez"
Contact Alan directly for details of a Deux-Chevaux Clemenceau
discovery tour, by  2CV or classic Citroën DS...
En bon français!)
A man called Monsieur Baud
Was, at the time of Clemenceau
The 1920 proprio
Yes!..of this Petit Château...

Et après, La Chambre Guilbaud:
A Commandant, aviateur gallant
Who was also a son of ...Mouchamps
And who disappeared in Artic seas
A la fin des années Twenties...

Chambre Clemenceau too
(Fenêtres et volets d'ORIGINE,
Restaurés avec rigueur et passion...)
With a panoramic view
Of Vendée bocage campagne
Yes, open le Champagne!

There is a gîte in the Orangerie
A spa with water at 37 degrees...
(Even a fitness room, les amis!)
And, especially
The warm welcome of propriétaires
Agnès and Frédéric...

And now dear friends, French or Anglophone
You can visit
Le Web-Site alone:
And see the beauty of this Lieu Unique...
With one Clic

Coin(g) Coin(g)...

Click on Mogette and Coings for classic Edward Lear nonsense
 poem and "slices of quince"...
Mogette La Deux-Chevaux Coquette
Very bad bilinguale poète
... adores the autumn odours
Of champignons...
...Mousserons
parasols blancs, or nez-de-chats cats' noses
or field mushrooms, called rosés...
After the blackberries, or mûres
...the ripe fruits mûrs
Odeurs of local wine bouillonnant, fizzing, fermenting...

And
Bien sûr...

Les COINGS;

En anglais we say
"Quince"
Which rhymes with mince...

Quinces are
The autumn fruit par
... excellence
And by far
The most parfumé, duvet-covered star
Of la saison
...Golden.

En Español, or Castellano
We call the quince or coing
"Membrillo"...

And you can,
If you go
Walking on El Camino
Buy, for uno Euro
... in any little village supermercado
Carne de Membrillo...

Oh, but no!
Carne de membrillo...
 is not MEAT!

...But rather a special fruité treat
With beaucoup d'énergie
For pilgrim peregrinos
... walking adelante
...and other caminantes
Or you, or me...
Click on champignons for Mogette's Camino blog
Especially, mes amis...
If you eat it with
...Fromage of brebis
(Speciality
Of Basque Country)

"Coin-Coin", Mogette?
Or "Coing-Coing"?
(The "G" is silencieux
For those of us
Who parler français
Sans accent marseillais...)

Do not forget,
That French canards,
 ...who give us  foie gras
And are...
 ...unique
Make that sound onomatopéique

But, as Mogette has been shown
 ...any canard anglophone
Says "Quack-quack"
In a different tone.

So préparons et contemplons
Les changements of saisons
With notre pâte de coing
...nos confitures
or gelées

Of  mellow yellow...
